USA: Planet Botanicals excelled among Expo East's 2011

Westbrook, Maine USA- Planet Botanicals luxurious Fair Trade CertifiedTM Ethiopian Coffee Scrub excelled among this year’s health and beauty offerings with its special formula combining fair trade, antioxidant-rich, Ethiopian organic coffee with selected organic peppermint for this luxurious, award-winning foaming scrub.

The Ethiopian Coffee used in this scrub is certified by Fair Trade USA. Planet Botanicals pays a fair trade premium, a portion of which is invested by the coffee cooperatives in education, health and infrastructure improvements in their coffee-growing communities. “When we discovered this coffee, we knew that it would not only be a wonderful exfoliator, but that the fair trade premium would help support the communities where it is grown”, said Michele Gilfoil, president of Planet Botanicals.

At the Expo East show, Planet Botanicals introduced their new African Collection, a full line of all-natural, plant-based, USDA certified organic face and body creams, balms and scrubs. “The response to our new products was overwhelming”, said Michele Gilfoil, president of Planet Botanicals. “People really enjoyed the moisturizing effects, quality and exquisite essential oil aromas of our new African Collection because we use high quality, fresh plant-based ingredients sourced directly from growers in Africa”, she added.  Among the new products launched at the show was cocoa butter body cream with a natural chocolate aroma, virgin coconut body cream and shea butter hand creams made with 20% Ugandan shea butter.

Planet Botanicals skin-care line consists of rare plant-based, all-natural ingredients.  Their new African Collection uses special African fruit oils and botanicals such as baobab, marula, coconut, kigelia and rooibos, plus rare Ugandan shea butter, prized for its uniquely luxurious soft and absorbent qualities and made by women’s cooperatives.  USDA organic certification for many of their body and face products including rooibos tea body washes, Ugandan shea butter balms and African fruit body oils, ensures highest quality for their cosmetic products.

Michele Gilfoil, the founder of Planet Botanicals emphasized that they directly source their plant-based, all-natural ingredients for their unique cosmetic line from women’s cooperatives and artisan distillers around the world.  The Company’s core philosophy for sourcing ingredients is based on the principles of fair trade and environmental sustainability.
