Celebrity accessory favourite, Cheet , has recently unveiled its eye-catching capsule collection for spring/summer 2009 on London, Paris and New York catwalks. This award-winning British handbag designer is making the fashion world sit up and take notice with sensual designs that are likely to be on every fashionable arm next year.

A celebration of blousy, feminine shapes and marshmallow shades; young, up and coming designer, Emily Cheetham, has dedicated the handbag collection to film star and style icon, Marilyn Monroe. The collection which sees each bag named after film characters played by Marilyn, denotes the return of unabashed girly glamour that is sure to melt even the hardest heart.

Nearly 50 years after her death, Monroe's hold on the collective imagination is as strong as ever. I wanted to pay homage to an icon who remains a source of constant enchantment to me, and so many others, ever since childhood.

Creating textural interest was my focus
The secret lies in offsetting simple shapes with intricate details and supple, luxurious 'naked' goat and calf leather. And the muted palette of mushroom, graffiti, putty and iris works perfectly with the woven jute fabric in silver and gold.
