USA: High Point Furniture Show Oct. 2008-Dramatic Fabric Presentation

After great acclaim at the Spring High Point furniture show, Weiman furniture again turned to Larry Matlin and Pia Cyrulnik for their October 2008 furniture showing. Owners of 'The Contemporary Couch' in Carlstadt, New Jersey, they are known for innovative fabric correlations, unique color sense, and putting the 'wow' factor into their designs. Their stunning 7000 sq. ft. showroom in affluent Bergen County NJ is filled with the latest in contemporary furniture, custom area rugs and unique accssories.

Weiman funiture, who merged with Preview furniture a few years ago, is an American manufacturer specializing in shapely living rooms capturing 'contemporary elegance'. Every sofa and sectional, designed by international furniture designers. is curved and shapely. To highlight such intricate designs, Larry and Pia accepted the task to design the brand new Weiman showroom in High Point, and to select the frames, layout and fabrics to be presented at the International show in North Carolina. Using rich suedes, custom prints, and leathers, each of the 12 groupings were bold in design, sophisticated in colors, and alone in their originality.

In addition, Larry and Pia were proud to unveil a striking new motion sectional, 'The Cape'. Shown in 2 variations, the 'Cape' features a dramatic sweeping curve design, a thick rolled back, and a stunning arm treatment design. The highlight of the design is an attached swivel ottoman that folds into the crease of the sectional. The original design was also presented in a 2 ottoman variation. Shown in luxurious Ultrasuede, in combination with custom designed fabrics, the sectional can be used in family rooms, and the dressiest of living rooms.

The 'Cape' was received with great fanfare as the most original design of the show, and Larry and Pia hope to enter the design in the 'Pinnacle' award selection process next summer. Pia won last year's award for her creative custom area rug designs.

The response to Larry and Pia's dramatic new showroom design, fabric coordinations, and new sectional design was gratifying, as buyers from around the world appreciated the excitement, originality, and boldness of the presentation.
