INDIA: LFW 2009: Nachiket Barve Created Fashion Geometry

Nachiket Barve created fashion geometry of a superior kind at Lakme Fashion Week.

Nachiket Barve known for his fabric manipulation once again brought a touch of superior fashion geometry to the forefront for Spring/Summer 2009 at Lakme Fashion Week. Creating clusters of flowers, working with cuts, panels and seams, Nachiket played with contrasts in beautiful rich shades. His colour story was vast with azure, purple, framboese, cerulean, sap green, mango,
crimson gold, flesh, ecru and chalk for shot silk organza, chiffon Lurex, tissue georgette and dupion coming together effortlessly.

The silhouettes were simple yet elegant for day and evening wear using colour blocking and paneling along with cutwork for peek-a-boo lining. Detailing revolved around floral motifs cutwork, hand drawn embroidery and textured pleats and lace effects which are Nachiket's specialty. Impeccable tailoring gave the simple silhouettes a truly classic touch for dawn to dust wear. The eye catchers were the opening paneled silk dress with textured appliqué, the dramatic lotus cutwork blouson dress, the utterly feminine degrade dye georgette dress with stylish zigzag appliqué at neck and the pleated silk dress with volume at hem. The cutwork was so immaculately executed that it almost looked like the fabric texture. The ombre dyed
dresses had a delicate appeal and the shifts, waisted dresses and the smocks were ideal for timeless fashion options.

Nachiket Barve once again created a collection which could give the Indian as well as the western woman the confidence to make a great fashion statement throughout the season and even many years later.
