CHENNAI: Erode-based Jansons India, textile division of Jansons Industries Limited (JIL), today announced its foray into manufacture of ready to wear formal shirts, sportswear and undergarments.
Group chairman, T S Natarajan said that the company had constructed an exclusive garment unit at a cost of Rs five crore. The entry into men's shirts and other areas would enable the company reach a turnover of Rs 250 crore by 2010-11.
He said the products would have a national presence by the end of next year and the company will open 100 exclusive outlets across the country by 2010.
The new products would hit the market soon and would be available throughout South India by the end of this year. Plans were on to make the company pan India by 2010, he added.
The company has set a target of Rs 5 crore through readymade shirts alone exclusively from Kerala during the next one year. The group has earned Rs 100 crore turnover from textile alone.
The company is a leading manufacturer and exporter of Brass, Aluminium, Silver Plated Bone, Fabric, White Metal, Wood Glass beaded home decorative items.
Started in 1970 with a few Hundreds Of Mts of textile sizing and weaving , today Jansons is weaving 6000 mts per day of textiles, and processing 70,000 mts per day and further expanding to 1,05,000 mts per day.
Jansons today has 40 Ruti Shuttle Looms from 127 Cms to 220 Cms, and 10 Sulzer projectile looms of 388 Cms width which have Capacity to weave 1.8 mil meters as of now.
With all the required equipments, machineries to complement, latest weaving machinery, the company has state of art lab to support and fulfill the international standards of technical, industrial, home or apparel Textiles.
