JAIPUR: The model of a Rs.3.25 billion proposed business-cum-shopping centre was unveiled by Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje here on June 30.
Rajasthan is fast emerging as India's newest destination for international trade and commerce in addition to its versatile gems & jewellery, textile, allied products, agro foods and handicrafts industries.
With India's first World Trade Park slated to come up in two years, the focus of international trade is going to shift to Jaipur, one of the fastest growing metropolis of India, which would become gateway of world trade to South Asia.
According to the Rajasthan CM, "The World Trade Park would usher in a new beginning in the world of trade and industry." "It is this kind of facilities that would put Jaipur on the world map, said Vasundhara Raje.
Raje hoped that the park would be a success and put Jaipur on the international trade map.
Sajjid Khan, chairman of R.F. Properties & Trading Pvt Ltd that announced the project, said the World Trade Park would bring global business at a single place.
"It will be a great socio-economic booster for the whole region, providing employment to many," he said.
Among other speakers were Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan who was all praises for the concept. Rajasthan's urban development minister, Pratap Singh Singhvi, Vivek Gupta, managing Director, AT Kearney and Pawan Ruia, chairman Ruia Group also spoke on the occasion.
