BURKINA FASO: US to continue with cotton subsidies
[Nov 16, 2007] The US deputy secretary of state, John Negroponte, has said that US will reduce subsidies on its giant cotton industry as long as the European Union does. The US is the world's second largest producer of cotton after China, producing some 40% of cotton on world markets.
