Lakme India Fashion Week 2002/03
New Delhi, July 31st 2002 - Lakme, India's leading beauty brand today unveiled its Fashion statement for 2002-03 - Think Brilliance - Think Lakme. Arrived at after understanding the consumer's psyche, studying socio-cultural background, contributions from fashion experts and global trends & influence on India, Think Brilliance is an insight that redefines self expression and goes beyond make-up and attire. A statement that invokes the sense of being and becomes a mindset. Think Brilliance finds manifestations in a spirit that expresses life in its brightest moments, a mood that spells a spontaneous celebration. An unbridled 'YES' to excellence. Announcing the statement Anil Chopra, Business Head - Lakme Lever, said, Think Brilliance Think Lakme, is not just a fashion statement but also an expression of life in its brightest shades. It's the spirit of confidence, aspirations and dreams and more than anything else a free and unconditional expression of the optimism within.
Anil further added, Going forward Think Brilliance will find its manifestation in Lakme activities at all levels. Think Brilliance will be further expressed through aesthetic sensibilities of three of India's cutting edge designers - Rajesh Pratap, Monisha Jaising and Suneet Varma, Lakme's designers for the Grand Finale, each exploring a distinct aspect of the woman's attitude and self expression.
Based on the expression and interpretation of each of these designers, Think Brilliance Think Lakme will be cascaded through a line of exciting cosmetic products, unique in colour and texture that Lakme will launch in September 2002.
The concept of Think Brilliance Think Lakme will also be captured in all the prominent initiatives that Lakme is planning between August 2nd and 8th at the Lakme India Fashion Week 2002 - 'Eternal Brilliance', 'Strokes of brilliance', 'Brilliance Workshops' and 'Create your own Brilliance'.
Eternal Brilliance is a celebration of the eternal faces, the models who have contributed to the success of Lakme. It's a platform for Lakme faces to come and speak about their timeless journey of embodying the Lakme woman. Shymolie Verma, Nandini Sen, Simone Singh and Sharon Clarke are a few of the Lakme women, who will be felicitated at this year's Lakme India Fashion Week, at a special stage created for this unique gesture.
Strokes of Brilliance is an initiative to recognize and appreciate the critical role that the make-up plays in defining the looks, personality and attitude of a woman. One make-up artist will be chosen by a panel of independent experts everyday, who will be awarded the 'Strokes of Brilliance' for the creation of his/her mesmeric looks on the ramp that day. They would then show their strokes of brilliance on one of the Lakme models to recreate that look.
Brilliance Workshops are a series of consumer interactions, that will explore various facets of brilliance through the knowledge & experience of experts in varied areas of self enhancement. Over the week, there will be 4 such workshops conducted 'Inner Brilliance, The art of Living workshop by Nandini Sen; Brilliance in Vogue 'Style workshop by Mohan Neelankantham & designers; Forever Brilliance Skincare workshop by Malvika Kohli & Feroze Gujral and Catwalk Brilliance, a modeling workshop by Rasna Behl & Sushma Reddy.
Lakme Beauty Salon - Taking forward the Lakme legacy of a deep understanding of the Indian woman, Lakme will also be recreating the experience of Lakme Beauty Salon at the Lakme India Fashion Week - a place where beauty & science meet to provide a personalized and high-tech beauty environment. To provide invitees a 'holistic'; beauty experience, Lakme will be bringing in leading experts in various facets of beauty - Makeup (Kumar, make-up artist of Manisha Koirala and Raveena Tandon), Hair styling (Aneesha Virmani), Nail art (Neera Agarwal), Haircare (Reeta Khatwani, India's leading tricologist) and Skincare (Malvika Kohli).
Create your own Brilliance is an invitation to create your own brilliance through a palette of colours. Mix n match with the help of a technical expert and create your own lip colour, at the Lakme Beauty Salon.
Pioneering Brilliance - The Lakme India Fashion Week 2002 will also witness the launch of 2 new innovations in the Skincare range. These innovations cater to specific Indian skin needs and are suited to the Indian climate. While one innovation uses the latest technology to deliver dramatic skin results, the other to deliver silky sensuous skin.
