"Anita Dongre showcased her ‘India Rocks’ Spring-Summer 2007 collection on the last day of the WIFW’2006. The season unfolded a line inspired by patriotism and Indian culture. Her collection had a striking blend of different craft touches from India on western silhouettes. The blue earthy colours of Rajasthan emerged in a line of cocktail dresses inspired by the 60s Jackie O look. Tonal treatment was given to whites. White stringy halter indicted the move of an interesting cross over back with some black ornate embroidered boleros and a striking little black dress with an embroidered hemline. Anita’s theme depicted in cute puff sleeved partial cut dresses, the red line of dresses with macramé touches for the back, & a stunning red figure clinched covered minis with embroidered chiffon sleeves and bodice. The caramel section had evening dresses in soft sheer fabrics like Chiffon and Georgette layered and styled for figure hugging perfection with discreet pin tucks for skirts and eye-catching embroidered waistbands. Anita gave a stylish importance to the back of the garments with glittering embellishments that were traditional and trendy.
