Having completed
an associate degree from NIFT New Delhi in 1991, Ranna augmented this
with a Bachelor's degree from Fashion Institute of Technology, New York.
Ranna.s formative years as an intern were well spent under the tutelage
of some of the leading lights of the Fashion Industry in India and abroad.
Starting out with Rohit Khosla subsequently going on to do a stint with
Donna Karan. Her learning curve emerged with her experience at the respected
and exacting fashion house of "Polo" Ralph Lauren-the Women's
wear Division at Madison, New York. Answering the call of her roots Ranna
came back to India, creating a self styled label under her name, and the
fall 1996 saw a launch of this young designer.

October 1996-
Fall couture show at Maurya Sheraton, New Delhi.
November 1996- Couture Show-Hong Kong on invitation by their women's club.
June 1997- Series of 'shows at Bangkok-Hong Kong-Singapore along with
other designers organized by Ministry of Textiles and NIFT.
October 1997- Fall show at Maurya Sheraton, New Delhi sponsored by Welcome
Group of Hotels.
March 1998- Spring/Summer Trunk Show at the Park Royal Hotel, New Delhi.
May 1998- Fasateen Spring/Summer show at The Trade Center, Dubai.
October 1998- 'Oorja' Road Show- organized by the A.E.P.C. and NIFT. Shows
were held at the Metropolitan Club, Manhattan, New York. The Sheraton,
Piccadily, London, Carousels De Louvre, Paris.
December 1999- Ranna launched her exclusive showroom 'AMEERA' in New Delhi.
March 2000- Fasateen Spring/Summer show-Hotel Burj AI Arab, Dubai.
April 2000- Swarovski presented the Spring/Summer 2000 show by Ranna -Park
Royal, New Delhi.
August 2000- Participated in first Lakme India Fashion Week- Taj, New
Delhi.
March 2001- Ranna Spring/Summer Fashion Show -Imperial Hotel, New Delhi.
August 2001- Participated in the second LIFW -Taj, Mumbai.
September 2001- Cartier Fashion Show -Pan Pacific Hotel, Singapore.
October 2001- Kowloon Ladies Show -Holiday Inn, Hong Kong.
January 2002- Shanghai Tang Fashion Show-Holiday Inn, Hong Kong.
May 2002- Show at Sheraton Carritos, in Los Angeles
August 2002- Participated in the third LIFW -Taj, New Delhi.
October2002- Launch of Pret Designer Store at Ansal Plaza, New Delhi called
'LEMON TREE'.
January 2003- Fashion Show -Conrad Hotel, Hong Kong.
January 2003- Designed Costumes for Femina Miss India, Mumbai.
March 2003- Spring/Summer show at Hyatt, New Delhi.
Ranna considers
dress designing as an art form. where it is a journey for her initial
conceptualization-development-end product, which goes trough various hues
till it crystalises. But the basic theme remains unaltered which is aesthetic
and uncluttered appeal.
To never
tire of originality and stubbornly avoid the comfort of predictability...and
each season while putting my style statement together, I am most careful
of one thing, that I ought not to repeat myself.

In India Ranna retails her exclusive women's wear at her own showroom
'Ameera' in New Delhi, and have regular clients/buyers from boutiques
in other metros. She has developed a lasting relationship with clients
allover the globe by consistently holding exhibitions and fashion shows.
