in sharp contrast to her contemporary. Having won the 'Bharat Yuv Ratna'
Award alongwith 'Bharat Vikas Award' for designing Women's wear, It looks
like no challenge is beyond this style Savvy Fashion Designer, who in
less then six years has received great recognition for her work and has
a discerning high profile clientele that includes some of the biggest
names in Media, Films, Fashion, Politics and Corporate World not only
in India but in US and Europe as well.
Pria has
received formal training in Fashion Designing first from Polytechnic in
New Delhi and then from FIDM, San Francisco, where she showcased her first
collection of Occidental Evening Wear with the likes of Escada, Perry
Ellis and Christian Laxquix at the San Francisco Fashion Centre and the
rest as we say is History.
Pria keeps
a very hectic life between her two homes in Delhi and Bombay, being a
wise a mother and a couturier is no catwalk. Horse riding, Roller blading,
Indian classical music, Bharat Natyam, Piano, Palmistry, Sketching and
Cooking are some of her hidden talents.
Pria's collection
for the Lakme India Fashion Week focuses on hand embroideries of different
eras, cultures and parts of India to create exquisite Indo-western outfits
perfect for today's cosmopolitan woman. Feminine and glamorous, her collection
uses materials such as georgette, chiffon and cotton and vibrant colours
including burgundy, red, bronze etc.
