Raghavendra Rathore

The Jodhpur based designer is best known for his trademark Bandgala Jackets that were literally invented in his hometown, some 800 years ago. Part of the Jodhpur Family and based in Rajasthan, Raghavendra Rathore spends his time between Delhi and Jodhpur.

What sets him apart is his training at the prestigious Parsons School of Design in Manhattan. Enriched with his sense of taste and design sensibilities made him a well sort out designer for the larger brands in the fashion system. His exposure to the top three design houses of the west, namely, Donna Karan, and Oscar de la Renta in New York and Pierre Balmain in Paris is well documented in his awe-inspiring methods of working.

LIFW’05 Collection

The collection is an outburst of colour, radiance, intensity and exoticism, evoking a fresh clarity of form, energy and impulsiveness. The clothes stress on cuts and celebrate youth through a journey through ancient techniques used in cultures form the past.

Tradition and originality, ancient symbols, combined with the elegance of classic style, in a contemporary way give this collection a fresh look.

Its a concept that flows between the old world styling using strengths of Rajasthan and the new, innovating and revolutionizing its course while remaining anchored to the tenets of style.
