Artwork ensembles elegantly embellished in either floral or geometric motifs taken from carpets; Mughal paintings and architectures beckon you, These are the creations of Tarana Rajpal Masand, a designers who believes in highlighting the personality of her clients on an individual level.
Winner at the first ever Indian Smirnoff International Fashion Awards (SIFA '94), Tarana graduated in designing from SNDT, Bombay, An apprentice with some of the leading names from the world of Indian haute couture like Abu Jani - Sarldeep Khosla and Sangeeta Desai, she later joined MTV as a stylist for Malaika Arora, Not one to be satisfied with her accomplishments, Tarana decided to launch her label.
Her first collection at 'ensemble' was a total sellout and ever since there has been no looking back for Tarana. A designer of women's wear, Tarana believes clothing is like the wrapping paper of the human body and should be complimentary to its content, Her label "Tarana" represents the multifaceted lifestyle of the women of today who use her styles as platform to enhance and express their beauty and personality.
Her style is distinctive -soft and sensuously appealing, "Fashion is after all, about look, feel and attitude," says Tarana.
Tarana designs Indian and Indo-western outfits for women. While weaves and textures are significant to her style, pure fabrics like georgettes, raw silk, and brocades are Tarana's all-time favorites.
Tarana's signature is prominent in the feminine fit and flow of her silhouettes and the sensual chic of her ensembles. Catering to the fashion aficionados, Tarana's clients include Shyamla Vijay Amritraj, Lakshmi Nair and Meena Raheja amongst others.

The collection for fall/ winter 04 or Diwali '04 consists of pret and diffusion wear and is inspired by prints.
Using a bright color palette of varying form bright pastels to deeper richer colors the collection primarily consists of prints in silks, knits and lycra in styles that are trendy and chic.
