       Monisha Bajaj

A product of FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandise), Los Angeles, Monisha has established her signature style of underplayed chic in the domestic fashion industry.

Before launching her own label in 1996, she worked for three years with a design house in Los Angeles. She has regularly participated in the Lakme India Fashion Week, held annually since August 2000.

LIFW collection 2004
The collection exhibits fine detailing on heritage fabrics with embroidery for textural enhancement. The crafty use of silhouettes is functional yet feminine, displaying color statement that blends bold with soft neutral colors.

So is the interplay of fit with form, integral to the Indian drape tradition. The design sense is innovative yet moulds well to classical forms.
