Vineet Bahl
Vineet Bahl, the name behind the label indjapink, started off his career after a BA in fashion design from England. He returned to India to join Tarun Tahiliani, where he was in charge of women's western wear and entrusted later to set up the menswear line. He then went on to start his own label indjapink in 2003. Retailing in 19 cities across Europe, indjapink entered the Indian market in
autumn 2005. The label currently retails from Ogaan in Delhi and Kolkatta. Women who are confident and aware of their individuality form the basis of his clientele. She is a true world citizen with a global approach to her wardrobe.
Theme of the Collection: Achieving the simple is often hardest to do and this collection is a case in point. Vineet Bahl`s collection, under the label Indjapink, manages to strike a correct balance between complicated technique and effortless ease. The result is a collection that is strong, pretty and easy to wear. The techno wizardry in his garments appears as a light hearted romantic infusion. Complicated craftsmanship comes across elegantly in stunningly simple creations such as an A-line dress wedded to a corset or an Empire-line reined in with a tiny lace strip. The fall of the fabrics is reminiscent of a morning summer breeze. There are georgettes, habitis, voiles and the must have of every collection this season- jersey. Colours are in muted pastels but you can still
hear them sing in notes of ochre, tan,
midnight blue and florescent orange.View the Vineet Bahl Collection in Lakme Fashion Week - Spring Summer 2007 |
