Rahul Mishra & Samar Firdos
Rahul Mishra and Samar Firdos are students of the National Institute of Design. Rahul's academic background in science and Samar's fashion design course from NIFT blend beautifully with their design philosophy of simplicity and functionality that adapt the classicism of the natural to the contemporary scenario.
Rahul's outstanding performance in fashion won him the award for 'Best Student Designer Of The Year 05'. He also won the Fiesta Italiana Fashion Design Talent Contest, was a finalist for 'Wow, New Zealand', and won the 'Pride of NID' award. He is the first Indian to win a scholarship to do a masters in fashion design at Instituto Marangoni, Milan, Italy.
Samar's exploration of new avenues of fashion in apparel and textile won him outstanding performance at NIFT and the 'Kimaya Fashion Award 05'. This also helped get him opportunities to work closely with international designers like Marian Clayden and Yoshiko Wada.
Theme of the Collection: SHEEN Unseen – A journey, which brought forth the pearls from the depths of our oceans of rich craft heritage. Romanticising with the richness of our culture in a very contemporary manner and redefining and reinventing the silhouettes. `To tap without tampering` was the motto. The collection seeks to portray the mystique sheen from the eyes of the newly wed bride from the villages of Kutch.
