Deepti Toor, who was discovered in the Indian fashion fraternity as a Gen next designer, is staging a debut with her forthcoming collection.
As a promising fashion designer, her design philosophy reflects the artist hidden inside her. This echoes in her creations, amalgamating fashion and art.
Different kinds of art forms like fine arts, sculpture, performing arts and many more, fuel her aesthetic inspiration. Her forte is developing forms, styles, silhouettes and surfaces (print and textures) of different kinds.
Theme of the Collection: The current collection is inspired from the Mughal miniature paintings which talked about flora and fauna, portraits, valour of the warriors, epitome of royalty and Kamasutra. The details, surfaces, ornamentation and colors in her creations capture the mood of the paintings which are depicted in a very subtle manner. Transparency and styling through layers and gathers are important elements used to bring about the flavour of Mughal miniatures. Hence this collection is yet another step towards her creative expression, an effort at its best and celebration of Indian fashion design..
