He owes his amazing understanding of colour and surface embellishment to his Indian roots. While his trousseau collections are extremely popular, his forte lies in his strikingly eclectic contemporary wear with an international appeal.
Theme of the Collection: Hatsuhi - Japanese for the `first sun` is about renewal. It is a testimony of the spirit`s capacity to transcend one`s darkness and emerge as a free soul. The collection`s refreshing and vivid colour palette ranging from midnight blues, greens, russets and golds trace the sun`s first journey.
Free flowing, breezy yet structured chiffons and silks skim over the body to create sensuous silhouettes. Hand painted, embroidered and appliquéd motifs capture the optimism of the sun. And the unrestricted just barely held forms declare independence. Hatsuhi: First Sun is as much about the emotional evolution of the free spirited woman, as it is about Anand Kabra`s first foray into the limelight.
