Mandira's debuted at the Lakme Fashion Week and it was surely a memorable one as the showstopper of the grand event was none other than her mother. Mandira showcased a saree collection titled "Real Women" and surprised the audience when she presented her mother Gita Bedi as the showstopper.
Gita Bedi was dressed up in a blue sari with golden border. Mandira presented summer sarees in shades of blue, pink and green with mostly golden borders.
The collection was low on embellishments and it had more of prints over it. The Mandira Bedi collection had everything of summers.
From fabric like silk, satin and Georgette to colors like icy blue, pink and other cool hues. Mandira ventured in the fashion industry last year by opening a signature store.
The ethos of Mandira's label is simple. Every saree that Mandira designs is something which she as a frequent wearer of the garment would wear herself.
Her sarees are traditional, yet quirky, classic, yet inventive. The fusion of fabrics, colors and detail, allows anyone from a teenager to a glam Grandmother to carry off her designs.
